Scovils Millside Dining
About This Spot
Stepping into Scovils Millside Dining feels like coming home to a cherished family gathering. Nestled on Main Street in Harrington, this unassuming spot offers a quiet refuge where the pace slows just enough to savor good company and heartfelt cooking. The worn wooden booths and simple, timeworn decor speak to two decades of steady service, welcoming regulars and newcomers alike into a space where comfort is the main ingredient.
The atmosphere here is cozy but unpretentious, with a warmth that goes beyond the crackling stove and soft chatter. It’s the kind of place where familiar faces exchange smiles across the room, and conversations linger between bites. You’ll find a rhythm that encourages you to settle in, relax, and soak up the kind of hospitality that feels lovingly practiced and genuine.
Food at Scovils Millside Dining is a quiet celebration of Maine’s coastal roots and home-style traditions – dishes that carry the soulful, hearty touch of family recipes nurtured over time. Whether it’s the satisfying crispness of freshly fried buffalo shrimp, the tender richness of a meatloaf drenched in extra gravy, or the homey goodness of a chicken pot pie, each plate invites you to linger and savor the simple joy of well-crafted comfort food. Homemade pies, from pumpkin caramel pecan to rich chocolate peanut butter, offer a sweet finish that feels like a nostalgic nod to Grandma’s kitchen, rounding out meals with warmth and a smile.
There’s an earnestness to the service here, a feeling that you’re genuinely cared for rather than just being a customer. It’s a family business through and through, visible in every thoughtful detail from fresh yeast rolls brought to the table to servers who take a moment to share a story or check in with a personal touch. It's a reminder that places like Scovils Millside Dining aren’t just about the food—they’re about the moments between dishes, the quiet acts of kindness, and the simple pleasure of sharing a meal in good company.

Amazing place with most delicious food like at grandma's! Service was exceptional, I believe it is a family business, we felt extremely welcomed and a waiter was a sweetheart! Big variety of food choices, everything was fresh and tasty. I enjoyed every piece of it! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality! I wish such a place was in New York! God bless your business! P.S. it is cash only. If you don't have enough you may withdraw at ATM at the closest gas station

Food was great, except the coleslaw. The interior hasn't been updated in a long time, which is gives the place a cozy vibe. We split the pick 2, which was enough food for both of us. If that isn't enough, get some pie for dessert.

Don’t let the rustic rugged exterior fool you. Inside is great food, prices, and pleasant service. Sandy and crew were great. The Veggie Lover’s Omelette was huge and I could not finish the whole thing.

What a wonderful place to eat. The owner, Sandy, cooks and bakes all the food. It was absolutely delicious. We were served fresh yeast rolls with butter. The appetizer Fried Mac n Cheese Bites, were scrumptious as a lead in to the delicious seafood casserole that was served in a lovely heart shaped bowl with a crisp and fresh Side salad with blu cheese dressing and a side dish of the best cole slaw I have had in a long time!!! The seafood chowder was really tasty and delicious too!!! The end of the meal was topped with Grape nut pudding and fresh whipped cream and a amazing Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Pie with a side of refreshing Vanilla ice cream. This will definitely be a place to return to time and time again. We did get the Turtle Cheeae Cake to go. Thank you Sandy for serving a meal that was out of this world!

Just discovered this quaint little restaurant in Harrington. Been there twice in the last five days and have thoroughly enjoyed the excellent cooking and service. They’ve been in business for 20 years and we now can appreciate why. The menu is “very Maine,” but eclectic. It covers the gamut of all the food groups. Each year when we visit the coast of Maine this will be a “for sure” stop.

When we stopped here for lunch while driving the Bold Coast Scenic Byway, my husband was like, "Are you sure you want to eat here?" It looks really shabby on the outside, but don't let looks deceive you. Inside is clean, service is super-friendly, and the food is great. I had a haddock roll made from some of the best haddock I've ever had in my life.

Classic small town spot. Homey vibes. Had great service and delicious food. Blueberry cream pie is a MUST.

Absolutely excellent seafood, service, and prices. My husband and I split a combo seafood plate with haddock and scallops. It was more than enough food for both of us, and both seafood items were very fresh and cooked to perfection. The haddock was the best I’ve ever had!
